The MU Office of Service-Learning is dedicated to connecting qualified and high achieving students with
internships in the Non-Profit Sector.
Students are able to work directly with community organizations as well as local and state government offices. You will earn credit while helping community partners carry out their missions. With the support of our office you choose community partners based on your interests, skills, and professional goals.
The Civic Leaders Internship Program (CLIP): Non-Profit Internships provide you with the opportunity to serve in a hands-on environment assisting abused and neglected children, the elderly, the homeless, refugees and at-risk youth in and around Columbia, MO. You will develop professional skills like fundraising, event-planning, marketing, communication, social media, case management support, volunteer coordination, public awareness campaigns, non-profit administration, to name a few. The opportunities are as open as your creativity, desire to learn and gain professional skills, and drive to directly and positively impact our Missouri communities. The application consists of:
· Resume
· 500-word personal statement with your first three choices
Interview: It will take the committee a few days to review your applications. Once we have reviewed your application and feel that you are a good fit, we will invite you in for a 45-minute interview. You will get instructions on how to prepare for that interview.
